Pomerene Hospital Welcomes New CEO, Anne Gunther

 MILLERSBURG, Ohio (July 1, 2025) – After serving in the role of interim chief executive officer for the past three months, Anne Gunther, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CENP, will officially assume the role of CEO of Pomerene Hospital. 


“With her extensive leadership experience, Anne is well prepared to lead our great team of employees and providers at Pomerene,” said Mel Yoder, Pomerene Hospital, Board of Directors Chair. “She has already proven to be an extremely valuable asset to this organization, and I look forward to seeing her excel in the position of CEO.”


During her 35 years with Aultman Health System, Gunther has served in a variety of executive nursing and healthcare operational roles including system chief nursing executive; vice president heart & vascular; women’s & children’s services; and cancer services. For the past three years, she served as president of Aultman Hospital in Canton. 


Anne earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from Walsh University, her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Akron and her doctorate in nursing practice from Walsh University. She holds nurse executive specialty certifications by The American Nurses Credentialing Center and American Organization of Nursing Leadership. Anne is active in numerous volunteer activities and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Aultman Health Foundation, Aultman Women’s Board and Central Stark County YMCA. She is also the past president of the Ohio Organization for Nursing Leadership.

On Sunday, October 5, several Pomerene employees and their family members marched in the 63rd Holmes County Antique Festival Grand Parade through historic downtown Millersburg. The Holmes County Antique Festival is more than a parade. Over its two-day run, the event offers antique markets, arts and crafts, live music, classic car shows, and family-friendly activities. At Pomerene, we believe that being part of our community means showing up, not just in healthcare, but in shared moments and local traditions.
