Trusted Heart Care, Close to Home

Pomerene Hospital received two American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® recognitions for coronary artery disease STEMI care.

Pomerene Hospital is proud to announce that it has received two American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® recognitions for heart attack care: Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Referring Gold Plus and Rural Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Gold.

These recognitions highlight Pomerene’s commitment to following evidence-based guidelines that support timely, coordinated care for patients experiencing STEMI, a severe type of heart attack. A STEMI requires urgent medical attention, and fast recognition, response, and coordination can make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes.

For Holmes County and the surrounding communities Pomerene serves, this recognition is especially meaningful. Rural hospitals play an important role in helping patients receive the right care quickly, close to home. When someone is experiencing a serious heart event, local access to trained providers, nurses, emergency care teams, and hospital staff can help ensure patients are evaluated, stabilized, treated, and connected with the next level of care as efficiently as possible.

The American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® program encourages hospitals to consistently apply the latest research-based care recommendations. By participating in this program, Pomerene continues to strengthen the systems, teamwork, and processes that support patients during critical moments.

These awards reflect the work of many people across Pomerene, including providers, nurses, emergency care staff, clinical teams, and support staff who all play a role in delivering timely, compassionate care. Their dedication helps ensure that patients in our community have access to high-quality care when every minute matters.

Pomerene Hospital is honored to receive this recognition and remains committed to advancing care for the people and families of Holmes County and the surrounding region.

Please join us in congratulating the Pomerene team on this important achievement.
