A Gift of Comfort

Local Business Donates 150 Pillows to Pomerene Hospital

Sometimes generosity starts with a simple conversation.

At this year’s Holmes County Fair, Pomerene Hospital staff were greeting visitors at their booth when a local business owner stopped by. That visitor was Brad Schmucker of Millersburg Tire Service. After chatting with the team, Brad mentioned he wanted to give something back to the hospital.

His wife had recently been treated in the Emergency Department, and the experience made him think about the small comforts that make a big difference during a hospital stay. Wanting to help others, he chose to meet a simple but important need: pillows.

On behalf of his grandchildren, Brad provided 150 EverLuxe wipeable pillows that will be used across the Emergency, Inpatient, and Outpatient departments to provide comfort to patients every day.

Pomerene Hospital extends heartfelt thanks to Brad and Millersburg Tire Service for this meaningful gift, one that reflects the kindness and connection that make Holmes County special.

Pomerene Hospital, rated one of the Top 20 Rural & Community Hospitals in the US, is an independent, private, not-for-profit hospital.  Pomerene employs more than 325 employees while maintaining a medical staff with 80+ physicians. For more information, call (330) 674-1015 or visit
