Pomerene Hospital Plans Distribution of COVID-19 Vaccine to Phase 1B Population in Holmes County

Beginning January 21st, Pomerene Hospital will begin administering COVID-19 Vaccinations to residents of Holmes County categorized in Phase 1B of Ohio’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program. Under Phase 1B, all available vaccines will be scheduled with individuals who are 80 years of age and older who choose to be vaccinated. Vaccinations administered to the public are free of charge.


Phase 1B Vaccination Tentative Schedule:

  • January 19th - Ages 80 and older
  • January 26th - Ages 75 and older
  • February 1st - Ages 70 and older
  • February 8th - Ages 65 and older

At this time, vaccinations in our county continue to be very limited (approximately 200 doses per week) and is not guaranteed. In conjunction with the Holmes County General Health District, we kindly ask for our community’s patience with scheduling and unforeseen changes as we move through the next several steps.


“As we begin to move into Phase 1B of COVID-19 vaccinations, our focus is going to be on protecting our most vulnerable populations.I would encourage anyone who is 65 and older to consider getting the vaccination.” Says Fran Lauriha, Pomerene Hospital CNO.


Pomerene Hospital will begin scheduling individuals, ages 80 years and older only, starting Thursday, January 21st. Vaccinations will begin January 21st and January 22nd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.


The vaccinations will be given in the Pomerene Hospital Auditorium by appointment only.Please call 330-674-1584, extension 1066 to schedule an appointment. Additional instructions will be given during the scheduling process.



Updates concerning vaccination availability and scheduling for other age groups will be announced in local newspapers, our Facebook page and our website www.pomerene.org.
