Pomerene Announces Addition of New Service – Pomerene Chronic Pain Management Center

Charese Botjer • January 5, 2022

Pomerene Hospital is excited to announce the addition of a new service to the Holmes County community, Pomerene Hospital Chronic Pain Management Center. This new service will provide pain solutions to those who suffer from pain that has been present for more than three months, and for which over-the-counter measures have not been effective to resolve the pain problems.

The Pomerene Hospital Pain Management Center will perform an initial exam and obtain the appropriate studies to come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan intended to return each individual patient back to a functional lifestyle. The treatments may include Physical and Occupational Therapy, injections, and a variety of medications tailored to the patient’s individual needs.

Our experienced provider, Dr. Charles V. Barrett, has an extensive history in treating all forms of Chronic Pain in the outpatient settings. Dr. Barrett is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He is currently seeing patients at Pomerene Chronic Pain Management Center, located on the second floor of the hospital, and welcomes new patients.

Pomerene Hospital Chief Nursing Officer, Fran Lauriha, expresses her excitement about the new service. “Dr. Barrett is an accomplished pain doctor who is an expert in chronic pain and various types of interventions to treat chronic pain. This a great option for our patients who may not have any other way to treat their chronic pain and can help get the pain relief they need. Having the pain clinic as an added service at Pomerene and an expert in pain management is really going to be a benefit for our community and help improve overall outcomes and patient care.”

On Sunday, October 5, several Pomerene employees and their family members marched in the 63rd Holmes County Antique Festival Grand Parade through historic downtown Millersburg. The Holmes County Antique Festival is more than a parade. Over its two-day run, the event offers antique markets, arts and crafts, live music, classic car shows, and family-friendly activities. At Pomerene, we believe that being part of our community means showing up, not just in healthcare, but in shared moments and local traditions. We’re proud to walk alongside our neighbors, celebrate our county’s heritage, and show our appreciation to our community. Thank you to every team member who joined us. You made our presence personal.
