Who We Are
The Pomerene Foundation was created in 1995 with the goal of supporting projects and services that assist the Hospital in achieving its mission, “Caring for our community’s health.” The Foundation’s mission, “Raising awareness and resources to support Pomerene Hospital’s mission” is pursued by very dedicated volunteers and employees. The Pomerene Foundation acts as the fundraising and philanthropic arm of Pomerene Hospital.
The Pomerene Foundation gives back to the hospital and community through various avenues including funding education and training (healthcare scholarships, nursing scholarships, nurse education and training programs), community and patient needs (medication fund), as well as funding for Hospital services and equipment needs.
The Pomerene Auxiliary was organized in September 1972 to assist the hospital by providing volunteers who help improve customer service, patient experience and facilitate fundraising activities. The Auxiliary reports directly to the Pomerene Board of Directors.
