Pouchoscopy
A pouchoscopy is a procedure used to examine an internal pouch created during certain types of intestinal surgery, such as after colon removal. Using a thin, flexible tube with a camera, providers can check for inflammation, irritation, or other concerns that may be causing symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, or changes in bowel habits. The procedure may also allow for biopsies to help guide diagnosis and treatment.
