Pomerene has promoted two of its leaders. Fran Lauriha, RN, BSN, was recently promoted to Chief Nursing Officer and Rachel Green, MHA, was promoted to Manager of Strategy and Business Development.
“We prefer to develop and promote our leaders from within our organization.Fran and Rachel have institutional knowledge which speeds up the learning curve in their new position.And, they both already know and understand that our culture of service excellence is the key to our success,“ stated Tony Snyder, CEO of Pomerene.
Lauriha, a native of Holmes County, has 16 years of nursing practice and in nursing leadership. She has previously worked as the Director of the Emergency Department and most recently was the Director of Surgical Services. Lauriha holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Ashland University and is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Nursing Leadership and Business at Grand Canyon University. Her passion is developing and mentoring future nurse leaders. “It is such an exciting time for Pomerene Hospital and to work in healthcare. Our commitment to nursing excellence is unquestionable and the foundations of our practices are very strong. I look forward to working with our leadership, and the entire nursing team to continue the excellence of providing high quality patient care and pursuing new opportunities to meet the needs of our community” said Lauriha in looking toward the future of Nursing at Pomerene Hospital.
Green has over 10 years of healthcare management and business development experience in specialty medical practices and hospital administration in Ohio and in the Washington, D.C. region. She resides in Holmes County with her husband. Green holds a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Ohio University. While playing collegiate basketball at the University of Akron, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a focus on Substance Abuse and Addiction. In May, Green completed the nine-month Holmes County Leadership program held by the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce. Green has volunteered for “Adopt a U.S. Soldier” and spent time observing clinical and operational methods for returning injured Veterans at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
