Elective Surgeries & Procedures Temporarily Suspended at Pomerene

Elective Surgeries & Procedures Temporarily Suspended at Pomerene

18-Mar-2020

As we carefully monitor ongoing Coronavirus developments, public health authority communications and safety information regarding COVID-19, we continue to follow recommendations and preventative measures by Federal, State, and Local public health agencies.

Effective today, March 18, at 6:00 p.m., under the state of Ohio mandate, Pomerene Hospital will temporarily suspend elective surgeries and procedures. In addition, all minor procedures at all Pomerene facilities will be suspended. The state of Ohio is taking this action to preserve Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and to maintain social distancing standards, which minimizes potential exposures for patients and workforce members.

Emergency surgical procedures will continue to be performed on an as-needed basis determined by the surgeon.

If you have an upcoming surgery or procedure scheduled at Pomerene, you will be contacted by a member of our team in the near future to discuss this change. You may also contact your provider if you have questions regarding your care.

This suspension will remain in place until Tuesday, March 31, at which time we will re-evaluate the mandates moving forward.

We understand that this state mandate and temporary suspension of elective procedures is inconvenient and we sincerely express our apologies regarding this change.
