We are governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees, all of whom are your fellow citizens and who volunteer countless hours to ensure the viability of the hospital.

Many people in our community are surprised when they learn the vast array of services we provide and the number of patients we take care of, including the more than 2,500 patients who are admitted each year, the nearly 12,000 patients treated in our
Emergency Department, the 1,200 people who have surgery at our hospital and the
more than 500 infants we welcome into the world each year.

And a final figure I must share with you involves the medical care we provide annually for which we receive no compensation. In 2004, this figure for uncompensated care was roughly $2.4 million.
