Pomerene Our Present and Future Over the years, Pomerene Hospital has undergone several major renovation/expansion projects. The most recent renovation/expansion was completed in 2001. It provided a new, state-of-the-art Maternity Department. The new unit has seven LDRP rooms, three patient rooms, private restrooms, a Cesarean Suite, Nursery with the latest in technology, family waiting area, and a warm atmosphere. The new Maternity Department is a welcome addition to Pomerene Hospital and completes Phase I of the Capital Improvement Project. The Millersburg Medical Building was completed in 1999. This building has aided in the expansion of hospital departments, providing much needed space in an off-site location. The Medical Building houses Company Care Center, Pomerene Rehabilitation Services, Multi-Specialty Clinic, Pomerene Pediatrics, and various physician offices. Along with the physical changes have come the addition of new services, the expansion of existing services, and welcomed additions to the Medical Staff. Since 2000, more than ten medical professionals have joined the active medical staff, providing coverage in the areas on internal medicine (adult care), family practice, psychiatry, obstetrics/gynecology, emergency medicine and pediatric care. Pomerene Hospital currently has more than thirty active medical staff members.
