Pomerene Hospital to Host Annual Memory Garden Memorial and Butterfly Release on June 25th
Pomerene Hospital is hosting its annual Memory Garden “Memorial and Butterfly Release” on Sunday, June 25th. The ceremony will include a butterfly
release and special music. All are welcome. The memory garden is situated behind the Amish House and employee parking lot.
The ceremony begins at 3:00 pm. Music begins at 2:30 pm followed by a devotional placement of new memorial stones and Monarch Butterfly release. The
event will take place rain or shine and those attending will be shaded under a tent. A dessert reception will immediately follow.
The memory garden, which was constructed in 2011, serves as a place where families can go to pray and remember their loved one. Families can sign a
memory book and enjoy the serenity of the garden.
The memory garden is a part of Pomerene Hospital’s bereavement program called “Lifting Hearts.” The program addresses individual needs of families
who have experienced an early pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or infant death. It promotes an interdisciplinary approach to reach out to grieving families
from the moment their baby dies through the period of grieving.
