Pomerene Health Foundation Awards $4,000.00 in Scholarships to Area Graduates

18-Jul-2016

The Pomerene Health Foundation has awarded four scholarships to 2016 graduating seniors from West Holmes and Hiland. The Foundation’s goal in awarding these scholarships is to assist local students pursuing a healthcare career in Pomerene Hospital’s service area.

Each application was reviewed by the selection committee for academic excellence, financial need, ACT/ SAT scores, and extracurricular activities/community involvement. Eligibility for the awards included the applicants entering a health-related field of study, and enrolled in a 4-year or a technical 2-3 year school.

The following seniors were chosen by the Pomerene Health Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee based on their achievements within their high school careers. The students along with their parents were invited to the Pomerene Hospital Board of Directors’ meeting on June 23rd. The students received their scholarship certificate and a $1,000.00 check payable to their intended college or university.
