Pomerene Hospital Introduces New Open Bore MRI Unit
Millersburg, OH - On October 14th, Pomerene welcomed a new open bore MRI to the hospital. The Espree open bore MRI provides a comfortable experience that is more accommodating and less confining than the closed MRI units.
The bore opening, which is nearly 2.3 feet in diameter, will be available at Pomerene Hospital every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. A physician order is required.
The Espree open bore MRI provides almost one foot of free space between a patient's head and the magnet, offering much ease of mind with claustrophobic patients. More than 60% of exams are completed with the patient's head outside the bore.
"The open bore MRI will give patients an overall better MRI experience," said Teresa Balder, Director of Radiology at Pomerene. "The unit is less confining, faster and produces excellent image quality."
