Pomerene Hospital Recognizes Men's Health Month
Pomerene Hospital is reminding members of the community that June is Men's Health Month.
The purpose of Men's Health Month is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men, as well as to encourage men to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury. Diseases including prostate and testicular cancer, heart and kidney disease, and diabetes are just a few of men's top health threats.
In addition to routine doctor visits, Pomerene Hospital encourages you to visit one of their health screening locations to get yourself checked out. Just visit http://www.pomerenehospital.org and go to the Community Outreach page for a listing of all upcoming screenings. You may also call Pomerene's Community Outreach Coordinator for more information at 330-674-1584, ext. 1764.
"Recognizing and preventing men's health problems is not just a man's issue. Because of its impact on wives, mothers, daughters, and sisters, men's health is truly a family issue."
