Pomerene Foundation Hosts 9th Annual Starlight Scramble
Millersburg, OH - Eighteen teams of golfers showed up at Fire Ridge Golf Course to take part in the 9th annual Starlight Scramble, hosted by the Pomerene Foundation and Pomerene Hospital Auxiliary. The event was hosted on May 29th and started at 9:00 pm. The Starlight Scramble is a nighttime golf event using illuminated golf balls and fluorescent light sticks to light the way. The goal of the event is to raise funds for the Pomerene Foundation and Pomerene Hospital Auxiliary to be reinvested for equipment and other medical needs. The 2009 Starlight Scramble raised nearly $5,800.
Thanks to the following major sponsors: Commercial Savings Bank and Killbuck Savings Bank, and to Pomerene Hospital as the Golden Tee Sponsor. Special thanks to Fire Ridge Golf Course for donating the use of the course and to the Medical Staff of Pomerene Hospital for being the Platinum Tee Sponsor.
First place went to Peppers Plumbing with a score of 31. Team Members included Tim Mast, Jake Miller, Wayne Miller, and Jim Schrock. Each received a $20 gift certificate to Fire Ridge Golf Course.
Second place went to Doug's Trucking. Team Members included Doug Cooper, Dan Mellor, Bob Boss, and Chris Fair. Each received a $15 gift certificate to Fire Ridge Golf Course.
Hole sponsors included Chuck Nicholson Auto Super Store, Rodhe's SuperCenter, L & S Petroleum, Inc., Snyder & Co., CPA's, Staley Technologies, Inc., BakerWell, Inc., Doug's Trucking, Inc., Fox's Pizza Den, and Hummel Group, Inc.
We also appreciate all the donations that were made for prizes, equipment, food, beverages, and ice.
