Maternity/OB Services & Midwifery

The birth of your baby is like no other time in your life. We want to help you experience all the joy and wonder that occurs with the birth of a new child. We will support you in the choices that you make whether you prefer an obstetrician, certified nurse midwife, or family physician. Most importantly, our staff and facilities strive to make this memorable time a safe experience for you and your baby.

Our birthing suites are decorated in warm, soothing colors with a private bathroom. We encourage your spouse or support person to remain with you as much as you desire. A pull-out loveseat is available to accommodate his or her sleeping needs. Our birthing suites make it possible to stay in the same room for your entire stay (based on census). Our nurses will help to care for your needs while receiving the highest quality of care.

We encourage you to pre-register for your hospital stay to expedite your admission process. We also offer a variety of education classes beneficial in preparing for the birth of your baby.

Pomerene Hospital is pleased to provide comfortable home like delivery rooms for patients who are interested in using our Midwifery services. Pomerene’s birthing center package includes a two-day stay at the hospital, as well as midwifery prenatal service and hospital delivery. Our Certified Nurse Midwife will see patients for prenatal exams at Pomerene’s Millersburg, Sugarcreek and Berlin offices.
